That bit of sandwich I had sitting on a plate next to my seat? That was not for kitty! That was the rest of my breakfast. Now that you've put your mouth on it, I'm not going to eat it. And no, you're not getting it either. I'm not going to reward that kind of behavior.

Tonight I treated myself to a big plate of crab legs. While cracking them, I managed to slice my finger. Ouch.

That's okay though. Because miome made delicious watermelon lemonade and it's tart sweetness will sooth away the pain. Especially when I add a bit of the mint syrup I made this afternoon to it.

There is an expiration date on my bottled water.

How the hell does water go bad? Does it one day wake up and dress in leather? Back talk it's parents? Ride a motorcycle? Get piercings in odd places? Mug little old ladies for their purses? Inquiring minds want to know!

This recipe is making me crave Vietnamese. I would go to the Vietnamese restaurant I usually go to tonight, but there's construction all around it making it virtually impossible to get in and out of. Besides which, miome and I ate there this weekend.

Still... Vietnamese...

Today I want to talk about something that really pisses me off. No matter how many times I've had it happen to me, I still get a surge of disbelief and rage when it happens again. I do everything within my power to make sure it doesn't happen and yet, no matter how hard I try, I get it. What is this action that causes me such consternation?

Note to self:

When you want to make a cake next time, try Angel Food Cake. Instead of strawberries for the glaze, try subsituting frozen blueberries or raspberries.

One of the other graduate students brought in chocolate cake with peanut butter icing to share with everyone.

I only got a small piece and it was so very good. I refuse to let myself eat any more, because if I do I'm going to pop.
